Fry Bread Recipe

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

    2 cups warm water

1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) of active dry or fast rise yeast

3-4 cups of all-purpose flour (start with three, add more if the dough is too wet)

Dissolve sugar into the 2 cups of water and add yeast.  Add flour and knead into a ball.  Let the dough ball rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.  Punch down the dough and roll out until the dough is 1/2 inch thick.  Cut into squares.  If you want them to be fluffy on the inside, you can let these dough squares rise for another 30 minutes.  If not, you can start frying.  Warm up oil in the frying pan.  Add the dough pieces and cook on each sie until golden brown.  Let them cool and then enjoy!
