Palm Springs Unifed School District offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package to eligible employees and their eligible dependents. This includes:
- A selection of HMO and PPO medical plans
- Three dental plan options
- Vision coverage
- District-paid employee basic life insurance (ranging from $50,000 to $300,000 based on position)
- District-paid Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) - (ranging from $50,000 to $300,000 based on position)

In addition to district paid benefits, there are a wide variety of voluntary benefits available, including, but not limited to:- A legal plan

An Employee Member Assistance Program (EMAP) that offers help for mental health and substance abuse concerns. You are also entitled to legal/financial assistance. All discussions between you and your clinical professional are confidential.

Life and AD&D Insurance
Life Insurance and Accidental Death Benefits are provided, at no cost to the employee, for all employees working four or more hours per day or at least 20 hours per week. The amount of basic life insurance is dependent on employee group classification while the AD&D is in the amount of $2,000 for everyone.
Additional Accidental Death Insurance may be purchased, by the employee, for the employee and/or dependents.

Blue Shield HMO plans include TELADoc, a service where U.S. board-certified doctors are available 24/7/365 to resolve many of your non-emergency medical issues through phone or video consults. When you need care, a Teladoc doctor is just a call or click away.
A new benefit that’s available to Blue Shield of California members! The benefit can help qualified participants lose weight and reduce their risk of developing diabetes. It’s a healthy lifestyle program that’s available at no cost. If you qualify, you’ll pay absolutely nothing for the program.
